I’ve been building websites since 2009, WooCommerce shops since 2012, and custom WordPress solutions for companies like Qatar Airways, Depesche, the Deutscher Steuerberaterverband and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München since 2015. I’ve written themes from scratch, rescued portals after Google algorithm updates, and digitized entire product portfolios for B2B clients.
In 2016, I built two DACH microsites for Qatar Airways — campaign landing pages for new route launches to Sydney and Ras al-Khaimah. I worked directly with the DACH marketing team and the headquarters in Doha, coordinating with official tourism offices at each destination. The CEO’s feedback after the Doha presentation: “Kudos to the person created those Microsite Designs — Awesome work!”
In 2019, I built the entire top-model.biz portal for Depesche Vertrieb in three weeks — a WordPress Multisite system serving multiple language teams with separate user environments. I still maintain it today.
Then, in November 2023, something shifted. I started using AI-assisted development tools in my daily work and realized within only a few hours of intense code diving: this technology doesn’t just make me faster — it fundamentally changes what businesses need to do to stay visible. My technical skills leveled up faster than in any period before. But more importantly, I understood the gap that was opening: most businesses were optimized for Google’s old algorithm. None of them were optimized for how AI actually finds, reads, and recommends.
That gap is why citelayer exists.
I registered the EU trademark on February 14, 2026, and completed my MMAI certification (Master Management with AI) at the SGO Business School / academy4.ai in December 2025 — including verified AI competence under Article 4 of the EU AI Regulation.
The name says it: cite + layer. The citation layer. The technical data layer that AI systems need to find, understand, and cite a business. It also happens to make websites more accessible — which means we’re not just optimizing for machines, we’re contributing to a better internet.
